Editorial Assistant – Twitter  (Contract)  (San Francisco, CA) – Apply Here

The media team at Twitter works to bring high value content to the platform, working directly with high profile accounts, as well as partnering with media companies and outlets to enhance their offerings on Twitter. We are looking for a freelance editorial assistant, based in our San Francisco headquarters, to assist in this effort.

Candidates should have a background in journalism, communications and/or marketing and have proven writing and organizational skills.  Candidates should have a significant understanding of Twitter and its place in the media world. The position will be involved in several aspects of the team, ranging from the new Twitter Media Blog to company websites and events.

The contract position will be paid a weekly stipend in exchange for the expectation of working daily at Twitter headquarters.


  • University degree in journalism, communications or related field
  • Exemplary writing and copy editing skills
  • Understanding of Twitter and its use cases in the media
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, one or more of our major verticals including television, sports, music, politics and journalism
  • Comfort with quantitative analysis
  • Strong references
  • Writing samples
