In observation of Help a PR Pro Out Day this Friday, we will be posting jobs a little more often this week, on a get them as we get them basis instead of our standard Monday jobs post. This Friday from 10am-2pm CST jump on Twitter and search the hashtag #HAPPO to post and respond to public relations job leads. If you’re job searching, post your resume, LinkedIn profile, online cv, YouTube video, or whatever you’ve got to make yourself stand out as a candidate.

Some HAPPO Tips for Job Seekers
1. Pitch Yourself in 140. Since the event will be on Twitter, be prepared to say who you are to job seekers in 140 characters or less. Keep flowery description to a minimum. Keep to details of your skills, strengths and key details like your location.
“Strong negotiator, great nat’l media contacts in healthcare field. NYC area, willing to travel.”

2. Pre-Shorten the Important URLs. If you want to steer a prospective employer to your blog or LinkedIn profile, have your links pre-shortened to save yourself time and so you don’t miss any opportunities!

3. Keep Your Eyes Peeled for Yourself and Fellow Jobseekers. You may see a job that would be a perfect fit for you save for one annoying detail: it’s halfway across the country. But you may know someone else who could take it. Pass it on. The career karma comes back.
